The winner of the 2000 Phi Beta Kappa Tampa Bay Alumni Association Hillsborough County Scholarship was FAY ANNE YAO, who graduated from C. Leon King High School's International Baccalaureate program with straight As and 1520 SAT scores. She will attend Emory University and plans to become a physician.  Fay embodies Phi Beta Kappa ideals for a liberal education when she says of her aspirations for a career in medicine:  "I wish to incorporate 'art' into as many aspects of my life as possible, including my career.  Medicine should be a combination of a variety of disciplines, not only the sciences."  For Fay, the study of music along with math and science has been central to her life so far.
